His work includes writing SOPs, developing enterprise wide GIS systems, conducting scientific research on cutting edge equipment and software solutions, and developing business plans.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography from the Technical School of Geodesy and Construction in Bulgaria, Apostol pursued a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Moscow Railway Engineering Institute. In 2006 Apostol earned a Master of Engineering in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Colorado Denver, where he also received a Ph.D. in the same subject in 2009. He has held an adjunct faculty position at the University of Colorado at Denver since 2003.

Apostol has training in ESRI Auto CAD Civil 3D, and he joined OEC Forensic in 2013 as a GIS consultant, aiding in GIS implementation in engineering and architecture, 3D modeling and high definition surveying in the oil & gas industry.
